Vivid skies in Seven Dials, Brighton…
Snapped this Instagram in the gorgeous Autumn sunshine. We love the vivid colours of the beach-huts! Oh so Brighton…
Matryoshka, or Russian nesting dolls, originated in the 1890s. Each doll opens in the middle to reveal a slightly smaller one inside it. Traditionally depicting older women, modern sets show everything from kittens to Star Wars characters to Russian political figures. Who or what would you evoke? These DIY dolls are a blank slate. Hand-lathed in Russia from linden wood, they’re pre-sanded and ready for paint or other media. An engaging project for the amateur or professional artist, the possibilities are endless.
